Remodels & Additions Building Process

At C & C Custom Builders, we enjoy the challenge of transforming your existing space into something fresh and new. We pride ourselves on our ability to blend styles in your existing home, making it a space that you want to live in.

If you are living in the home during the remodel, we will be sensitive to the working hours of the project. The job site will be safe and cleaned up at the end of each work day. We'll do our best to make the project enjoyable.

See the quality craftsmanship first-hand. We are always available to accompany you on a tour of any of our homes. We'll take the time to get to know each other and find out what you may be looking for in a custom home. We also welcome you to visit our homes during the Brown County Home Builders Association's Showcase of New Homes events held each spring and fall. During the event, you'll have the chance to meet Dave and Brian and see the true quality that goes into each C & C Custom Builders' home.

C & C Custom Builders allows you to enjoy the process of creating a "new" home. Here's an outline of our home renovation process.

Consultation

At the initial consultation, we'll seek to understand the vision that you have for your newly renovated space. Discussions surround your goals, design concepts, budget considerations and project timelines. We'll evaluate your existing structure and review any setback issues.

Design

Following the consultation, we'll complete a summary of the project scope and a rough estimate. If the renovation estimate seems appropriate, a more formal design process ensues. Beginning with a list of wants and needs, an initial plan design is developed. Once a preliminary plan is drawn, we'll sit down with you and thoroughly review the plan to determine what changes need to be made (red-lining). This collaborative effort continues until the final is created.

Quote

Our client specification meeting is very detailed. Initially a question and answer session occurs at the site of construction. Including subcontractors, we'll fully understand the scope of your renovation project. The project is then quoted based on the outlined specifications and reviewed with you. Together we'll make adjustments to the plan design and pricing to meet budget considerations. We also review the terms of our building contract.

Pre-Construction

With a signed contract, we establish a start date and complete a project schedule. [Link to .pdf of project schedule.] This comprehensive project schedule identifies each task and pending decision in the building process, the responsible party and the completion date.

Build

We'll be in constant contact throughout the building process. Our team of professionals at C & C Custom Builders take a personal interest to ensure your house is completed to specification within the allotted time period and with strict attention to detail. You will know exactly what and when decisions need to be made, as well as what is happening at your home on any given day. We'll meet regularly to review the progress and you will get to know each of our team members as they work on your home.

Upon completion of the home, a final walk-through is done and a punch list is made. Although the house is complete, our relationship will not end. We are always available to address any questions or problems that may arise with your new home.
